I'm a strong believer that intergenerational compassion, understanding and communication is a huge part to emotional healing because so much of the things we have to heal (from) had to do with something that the generation and a few above us did not receive or even know about.
And so I think viewing it as generational liberation instead of blame or frustration puts people in a lot more of an empowering stance.
- Livi
Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Livi Redden, an inspirational woman in her 20s - who is perhaps most famous for giving a TED Talk that has almost 3 million views!
Livi’s Dad suffered from ALS, making her a child-caretaker for her terminally ill father. This early experience taught her to be resourceful, empathetic, and now relentlessly proactive in encouraging teenagers, 20-somethings and even “adults” to focus on emotional regulation techniques.
Hope you enjoy our chat as much as I did.
If you are pressed for time see below for two bite-size check-in nuggets.
And down below is the TED Talk that made Livi (originally from Utah) the second most famous person to visit Bayonne, NJ (after George R.R. Martin) 👇🏽
